I won a trivia contest on Good things Utah yesterday. I entered on their website, they called me before the show to tell me they had picked my name (luckily I answered the phone–they called right when I was getting out the shower), then I had to answer a question about the previous day’s show. I won a $50 gift certificate to Dominos Pizza. Not the greatest prize ever, but not too shabby, either. But it’s funny how many people hear you when you’re on the phone during a local tv show. I’ve heard from several people who heard me win. They all say the same thing–“You win everything. You are the luckiest person I know.” Well, I feel the need to explain a bit–I work really hard at my winning. I try to for at least one contest almost every single weekday, usually more than one. I’m only the right caller sometimes because I’ve been the wrong caller 20 other times that week. So, really, it’s not just luck, it’s persistance. And someday, that persistance will pay off, and I will win something big. A trip for 4 to Disneyland, a new car, a trip to Hawaii–I don’t know what it will be, but mark my words, someday it will happen.
