I’ve had some people ask about my reflections skit (well, Two people, to be exact), so I thought I would just post it here. Now bear in mind that this skit came about because we already had a very large NEMO costume, and everyone has witch costumes. So, I wrote the skit around the costumes. We also have a candy bar costume, but at skit time couldn’t find it, so we eliminated the candy bar part at the end. If you are in charge of reflections for your school, maybe you could use this as an idea. For a small fee. Just kidding about the fee.<\/p>\n

Reflections Skit 2007<\/span><\/p>\n

Witches standing in a circle chanting: Bubble Bubble, toil and trouble, make this fish big on the double! *boom!* (Fish appears from behind the curtain.<\/span><\/p>\n

Witch 3\u00c3\u00a2\u00e2\u201a\u00ac\u00e2\u20ac\u009dWow! That\u00c3\u00a2\u00e2\u201a\u00ac\u00e2\u201e\u00a2s one big fish.<\/span><\/p>\n

Witch 1\u00c3\u00a2\u00e2\u201a\u00ac\u00e2\u20ac\u009dI have a question. Why must we always make trouble and bad with our spells?<\/span><\/p>\n

Witch 2\u00c3\u00a2\u00e2\u201a\u00ac\u00e2\u20ac\u009dWell, that\u00c3\u00a2\u00e2\u201a\u00ac\u00e2\u201e\u00a2s just how it\u00c3\u00a2\u00e2\u201a\u00ac\u00e2\u201e\u00a2s always been. We are witches! We make mischief and trouble.<\/span><\/p>\n

Witch 3\u00c3\u00a2\u00e2\u201a\u00ac\u00e2\u20ac\u009dWell, couldn\u00c3\u00a2\u00e2\u201a\u00ac\u00e2\u201e\u00a2t we change that? Couldn\u00c3\u00a2\u00e2\u201a\u00ac\u00e2\u201e\u00a2t we do good things instead?<\/span><\/p>\n

Witch 4\u00c3\u00a2\u00e2\u201a\u00ac\u00e2\u20ac\u009dMaybe we could make a difference in a good way!<\/span><\/p>\n

Witch 2\u00c3\u00a2\u00e2\u201a\u00ac\u00e2\u20ac\u009dOh, we\u00c3\u00a2\u00e2\u201a\u00ac\u00e2\u201e\u00a2re just little witches. We can\u00c3\u00a2\u00e2\u201a\u00ac\u00e2\u201e\u00a2t make a real difference in the world.<\/span><\/p>\n

Witch 3\u00c3\u00a2\u00e2\u201a\u00ac\u00e2\u20ac\u009dHey! That reminds me of something I was just reading about! When I flew over the school the other day, I saw a sign that said the PTA was having a contest called Reflections, and the theme was \u00c3\u00a2\u00e2\u201a\u00ac\u00c5\u201cI can make a difference by…\u00c3\u00a2\u00e2\u201a\u00ac\u00c2\u009d<\/span><\/p>\n

Witch 2\u00c3\u00a2\u00e2\u201a\u00ac\u00e2\u20ac\u009dBy what?<\/span><\/p>\n

Witch 1\u00c3\u00a2\u00e2\u201a\u00ac\u00e2\u20ac\u009dWhat\u00c3\u00a2\u00e2\u201a\u00ac\u00e2\u201e\u00a2s reflections?<\/span><\/p>\n

Witch 4\u00c3\u00a2\u00e2\u201a\u00ac\u00e2\u20ac\u009dWhat\u00c3\u00a2\u00e2\u201a\u00ac\u00e2\u201e\u00a2s PTA?<\/span><\/p>\n

Witch 3\u00c3\u00a2\u00e2\u201a\u00ac\u00e2\u20ac\u009dWell, I don\u00c3\u00a2\u00e2\u201a\u00ac\u00e2\u201e\u00a2t really know.<\/span><\/p>\n

The witches stand and scratch their heads.<\/span><\/p>\n

Fish (standing up)\u00c3\u00a2\u00e2\u201a\u00ac\u00e2\u20ac\u009dExcuse me. I know I\u00c3\u00a2\u00e2\u201a\u00ac\u00e2\u201e\u00a2m just a fish, and that you just put a spell on me to make me huge, but I noticed that you had some questions about Reflections. (all the witches stare at the fish with their mouths open) Since I\u00c3\u00a2\u00e2\u201a\u00ac\u00e2\u201e\u00a2ve been in the PTA in my local school of fish, I know all about reflections. <\/span><\/p>\n

Witch 1\u00c3\u00a2\u00e2\u201a\u00ac\u00e2\u20ac\u009dHey, that fish can talk! Did we do that?<\/span><\/p>\n

Witch 2\u00c3\u00a2\u00e2\u201a\u00ac\u00e2\u20ac\u009dJust be quiet and listen. <\/span><\/p>\n

Witch 4–Go on, fish. You were saying?<\/span><\/p>\n

Fish\u00c3\u00a2\u00e2\u201a\u00ac\u00e2\u20ac\u009dWell, Reflections is a National Contest Sponsored by the PTA to encourage creativity in children.<\/span><\/p>\n

Witch 3\u00c3\u00a2\u00e2\u201a\u00ac\u00e2\u20ac\u009dWhat are you talking about?<\/span><\/p>\n

Fish\u00c3\u00a2\u00e2\u201a\u00ac\u00e2\u20ac\u009dLet me explain. Reflections is a contest. There are 8 categories\u00c3\u00a2\u00e2\u201a\u00ac\u00e2\u20ac\u009dWould you witches mind holding up those signs for me? (Witches shake their heads and say \u00c3\u00a2\u00e2\u201a\u00ac\u00c5\u201cno, of course not\u00c3\u00a2\u00e2\u201a\u00ac\u00c2\u009d) Photography, Visual Arts, Literature, 3-d art, dance, music, theater, film and video. (Witches hold up signs)<\/span><\/p>\n

Witch 1\u00c3\u00a2\u00e2\u201a\u00ac\u00e2\u20ac\u009dSo, we could draw a picture <\/span><\/p>\n

Witch 2 \u00c3\u00a2\u00e2\u201a\u00ac\u00e2\u20ac\u0153And I could write a song?<\/span><\/p>\n

Fish\u00c3\u00a2\u00e2\u201a\u00ac\u00e2\u20ac\u009dYes, you could enter in each of the 8 categories if you wanted.<\/span><\/p>\n

Witch 4\u00c3\u00a2\u00e2\u201a\u00ac\u00e2\u20ac\u009dWhat should we write about?<\/span><\/p>\n

Fish\u00c3\u00a2\u00e2\u201a\u00ac\u00e2\u20ac\u009dIt\u00c3\u00a2\u00e2\u201a\u00ac\u00e2\u201e\u00a2s just like you were talking about. \u00c3\u00a2\u00e2\u201a\u00ac\u00c5\u201cI can make a difference by….\u00c3\u00a2\u00e2\u201a\u00ac\u00c2\u009d and then you tell what you would do to make a difference or make the world a better place.<\/span><\/p>\n

Witch 3\u00c3\u00a2\u00e2\u201a\u00ac\u00e2\u20ac\u009dSo we CAN change the world! And then we can enter this contest! Can everybody enter?<\/span><\/p>\n

Witch 1\u00c3\u00a2\u00e2\u201a\u00ac\u00e2\u20ac\u009dEven witches?<\/span><\/p>\n

Fish\u00c3\u00a2\u00e2\u201a\u00ac\u00e2\u20ac\u009dAnybody who goes to Highland Elementary.<\/span><\/p>\n

Witch 2\u00c3\u00a2\u00e2\u201a\u00ac\u00e2\u20ac\u009dLet\u00c3\u00a2\u00e2\u201a\u00ac\u00e2\u201e\u00a2s ALL enter!<\/span><\/p>\n

Witch 1\u00c3\u00a2\u00e2\u201a\u00ac\u00e2\u20ac\u009dIf it\u00c3\u00a2\u00e2\u201a\u00ac\u00e2\u201e\u00a2s a contest, does that mean there are prizes?<\/span><\/p>\n

Fish–Yes, that\u00c3\u00a2\u00e2\u201a\u00ac\u00e2\u201e\u00a2s the best part! There are prizes for the winners, and not only that, every student who enters the Reflections contest will get a candy bar!<\/span><\/p>\n

Witch 3\u00c3\u00a2\u00e2\u201a\u00ac\u00e2\u20ac\u009dEvery single one? Wow!<\/span><\/p>\n

Fish\u00c3\u00a2\u00e2\u201a\u00ac\u00e2\u20ac\u009dAnd that\u00c3\u00a2\u00e2\u201a\u00ac\u00e2\u201e\u00a2s not all, I heard that the class with the most entries will get a pizza party!<\/span><\/p>\n

Witch 4\u00c3\u00a2\u00e2\u201a\u00ac\u00e2\u20ac\u009dWow!! That\u00c3\u00a2\u00e2\u201a\u00ac\u00e2\u201e\u00a2s fantastic! I want to go home and work on my reflections right now! Are there rules and stuff, or can you just do whatever you want?<\/span><\/p>\n

Fish\u00c3\u00a2\u00e2\u201a\u00ac\u00e2\u20ac\u009dThere are always rules, even for witches. Look for a note to be coming home soon.<\/span><\/p>\n

Witch 1\u00c3\u00a2\u00e2\u201a\u00ac\u00e2\u20ac\u009dI can\u00c3\u00a2\u00e2\u201a\u00ac\u00e2\u201e\u00a2t wait! I think I\u00c3\u00a2\u00e2\u201a\u00ac\u00e2\u201e\u00a2ll get started right away!<\/span><\/p>\n

Fish\u00c3\u00a2\u00e2\u201a\u00ac\u00e2\u20ac\u009dNow, do you think you could turn me back to my regular size?<\/span><\/p>\n

Witch 3\u00c3\u00a2\u00e2\u201a\u00ac\u00e2\u20ac\u009dOh, sure! We could start making a difference right now.<\/span><\/p>\n

All witches– Fins and Flippers and yellow eyes, Turn this fish back to the right size!<\/span><\/p>\n

(Fish disappears back under the curtain.)<\/span><\/p>\n

Witch 2\u00c3\u00a2\u00e2\u201a\u00ac\u00e2\u20ac\u009dThat was one smart Fish!<\/span><\/p>\n

Witch 1–He sure knew a lot about Reflections. I\u00c3\u00a2\u00e2\u201a\u00ac\u00e2\u201e\u00a2m glad we met him!<\/span><\/p>\n

Witch 3\u00c3\u00a2\u00e2\u201a\u00ac\u00e2\u20ac\u009dYeah, what a cool contest! We can enter and win prizes.<\/span><\/p>\n

Witch 4 \u00c3\u00a2\u00e2\u201a\u00ac\u00e2\u20ac\u009dAnd don\u00c3\u00a2\u00e2\u201a\u00ac\u00e2\u201e\u00a2t forget about the pizza party, and the candy bar for every one who enters.<\/span><\/p>\n
