The Trials of a Busy Mom

The toast man

It’s 7 o’clock on a Saturday
The regular guy shuffles in
There’s a young man who crawls up next to me
Who pulls my hair and kicks me in the shin

He says, Mom, can you make me some breakfast
I’m not really sure what to say,
But it’s toast and peanut butter and a glass of milk
and you make it for me every day.

La la la, de de da
La la, de de da da da

Chorus:
Make me some toast, you’re the toast mom
Make me some toast right now
Well, I’m in the mood for some breakfast
If you don’t, I’ll act like a cow.

It’s not quite Billy Joel, but what do you expect for 7:00 on a Saturday morning?

You’re so musically talented! You’ve been revising lyrics for years! Every once in awhile I still have the old songs run through my head….

Her name was Gladys, she was a housewife…
With yellow curlers in her hair and a big house coat to wear.
She would change diapers, and do the dishes…
And while she tried to clean the house, Howard was her faithful spouse.
But then the milkman came, and Gladys was to blame
She lost her youth and she lost her Howard, and she *lost* *her* *mop*!

    2 foot 2,
    fringe of blue,
oh what those 2 feet can do.
    Has anybody seen my towel???

And one of my all time favorites:

    Michelle-don’t-yell-Michelle-don’t-yell….

Um, I can’t believe you can remember those silly songs from 25 year ago. And who wrote those, a bunch of fifth graders? “Lost her mop”? That doesn’t even rhyme!

I still hum Michelle Don’t Yell to myself sometimes, too.

My personal Paige lyrics are that silly I Adore Being a Girl song we had to sing in Girls Choir with Mr. W. How did that go?
