The Trials of a Busy Mom

I’ve fallen and I can’t get up!

I’ve mentioned before how enjoyable our Roomba is, and how nice it is to just set it on the floor and have it vacuum for me.  We like it so much we got one for each of our moms for Christmas, and we hope they enjoy them as much as we do.  But I set the little guy down in the family room (the most vacuumed room in the house!) and it went around for a minute and then stopped and did it’s sad little “beep, Beep.  beep. beep. beep.”  Which in Roomba language is the equivalent of a human saying “Help!  I’ve fallen and I can’t get up.”  I went to check on the vacuum and see why it wasn’t running properly, feeling slightly like the evil stepmother in Cinderella (“you can’t go to the recharger until you do your vacuuming!  And wash the floor, and the tapestries, and the draperies…..”).  The poor little devil had sucked up an unraveling bit of the rug, and had it so wrapped around it’s little brushes, that it was really stuck.  So, I made quick work of unraveling it and now it’s off happily vacuuming again.

And I did have some point to this story.  It was funnier in my mind.  Oh well.  That’s all you get today.

My Roomba hasn’t been working and I have had to resort to using a regular vacuum. However, no need to be too sad, because the customer service people are great and are sending me a new battery. I will be in Roomba fat city in a few days.

I’m starting to sense a strange attachment to this machine. You haven’t given “the little guy” a name, have you?

The kids gave it the name ‘buddy’, but they’ve forgotten that, and just call it ‘Roomba’.

Yep – it was funny. You are funny!
