thx for your comment on my Transfer of Motivation post. You asked a question about pottying.
Our kids joined our family after the potty-training years, so I don’t have a lot of experience with this. But, our 7 year-old had a spate of wetting his pants. After confirming that there was no medical concerns, I casually explained to him that wet pants are not clean and that he’ll need to wear a diaper for the rest of the day if it happened again. It did. He did. End of problem.
I made sure the diapers were overly big (we borrowed from Grandpa) and annoying.
I dont know if your 3 yr old is in diapers or pull-ups or training pants, but our son HATED the bulkiness of them, so maybe going back to annoying diapers. Oh I don’t know. They were 5 & 6 when they came to us.
How fun! I had a friend in college who had a bird who looked just like yours. Her name (the bird’s) was Miss Priss. Her wings were clipped and so my friend would let her out of her cage and leave the door open to her dorm room. Every once in a while, Miss Priss would walk out the door and check out what was going on in the hallway. The next thing you’d hear was my friend calling Miss Priss in that stern, mommy voice and her bird would always turn around and walk right back into the room. I’d laugh every time, seeing this bird trained to come when she was called. She definitely had her own birdy personality.
cool photos
